The Great Rubber Duckie Race
Our annual Rubber Duckie Race took place on Town Day June 7, 2008.
Thanks to all of the SYBS families for supporting the 16th Annual SYBS Rubber Duckie Race. The event culminating with more than 4,000 duckies being dropped from the sky was one of our most successful fundraising events raising well over $40,000.
The event would not have been a success without the efforts of many hard-working, talented and generous individuals within our program.
Tim Woolston, our Booster Club President and all the league parents, team parents and coaches were remarkable in supporting of duckie sales. So many of our leagues reached approached or exceeded their goals and this was truly due to their efforts.
The Pascuito Family generously donated the Sachem Duckie Box, which was engineered in 2007 solely for our event. The Manganaro Family and Shaugnessey Crane had also donated significantly to making sure the duckie drop would be a great success.
Finally, a special thanks to each and every SYBS player for their efforts in supporting the race. For all of those softball players who volunteered for face-painting to those baseball players who sold duckies at the weekend barbeques, THANK YOU ! You truly did a great job !
